Optimized Job opportunities Creation of work opportunities and more decent and sustainable jobs through Public employment opportunities emanating from public infrastructure
  • Massify Job creation through EPWP
  • Create more descent jobs though Full Time Equivalents (FTE’s);
  • EPWP Coordination by supporting Public Bodies within the province in reporting on jobs created in the EPWP and progress towards achieving sector targets.
Transformed and inclusive property and construction industry (built environment) Optimizing entrepreneurship for socio-economic transformation of emerging SMMEs (Cooperatives, emerging contractors, town and village economies) and HDIs in general
  • Support emerging contractors through the ICDP Incubator Programme and establish a Property Incubator Programme;
  • Support SMMEs in upgraded to a higher CIDB ratings;
  • Develop an Infrastructure and Construction SMME Strategy
Prioritise Skills development for economic inclusivity and employability of youth
  • Strengthen Youth empowerment programmes like APTCOD & NYS to enable youth to be either employable or self-sufficient and economically active.
  • Construction of the Artisan Development and Training Centre in Makhanda to produce highly skilled Artisans in various disciplines so as to enhance infrastructure delivery capacity of the Province.
  • Develop Exit Strategy to ensure sustainability of Artisans beyond the training provided.
